Museum Archive: Kautzky Lazy Ike Wooden Floating, Perch, 1/4 oz (7 g), #25056

Honeycomb scaling in the (P) Perch finish defines the aesthetic of this 2 1/4" (6 cm) wooden lure. Weighing 1/4 oz (7 g), the Kautzky Lazy Ike is a floating model that showcases the classic craftsmanship of early Iowa tackle production. The curved profile is carved from solid wood, featuring a dark green back that transitions into gold-toned sides with distinct black vertical bars. A small metal diving lip is set into the face, accompanied by the "Lazy Ike" brand stamp clearly visible on the underside. Two treble hooks are fixed to the frame using vintage surface-mount hardware. The exterior finish remains bright and clear, earning a 4/5 condition rating with only minor signs of its age. Every detail, from the painted eye to the tapered tail, reflects the specific design language of the Kautzky factory for item #25056.
