Prescott Spinner Company: 130 Years of Success

The Prescott Spinner Company is one of the oldest lure manufacturers in the United States. It is known for making the Spinner lure both accessible and highly effective for the mass market.

The company was established in 1893 by Charles H. Stapf.

Its headquarters were located in Prescott, Wisconsin, an important transportation hub on the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers.

This spinner quickly became the standard for catching almost all species of freshwater fish, from trout and Walleye to perch. Its design was so successful that it has required no significant changes in over a century.

At its peak, the Prescott Spinner Co. produced up to a quarter of a million lures per year at its factory in Prescott.
