Museum Archive: Vintage Other Angler Makes Fish Mad, 3/32oz nickel spinning lure #18659

Stamped clearly into the nickel-finished teardrop blade, the phrase "ANGLER MAKES FISH MAD" gives this vintage Japanese spinner its unique identity. The weighted body is constructed from a distinctively ridged brass cylinder paired with two smaller brass beads, bringing the total weight to 3/32oz (3g). Measuring 2" (5cm) in total length, the lure features a brown feathered hackle tail that is tightly bound with a red thread wrap and accented with a small red feather tip. On the reverse side of the metal blade, the "MADE IN JAPAN" origin mark is deeply embossed, characteristic of post-war export tackle. This specimen, assigned product code 18659, is in 5/5 condition, showing well-preserved metal surfaces and clean, intact hackle. The wire form is finished with a standard top eyelet and a simple loop connecting the feathered hook to the brass body components.
