Bay de Noc
Bay de Noc Lure Company is an American fishing lure manufacturer founded in 1955 in Gladstone, Michigan, known as the "Walleye Capital of the World," right next to Little Bay de Noc.
The company was started by two brothers based on successful vertical jigging lures that had been used in Sweden for over 100 years.
Their most famous invention, which put the company on the map, is The Swedish Pimple.
The Swedish Pimple: This is a classic, metal jigging spoon that creates a unique erratic flash and flutter when jigged vertically. It is effective for both ice fishing and open water presentations.
Bay de Noc specializes in lures for vertical fishing. While the Swedish Pimple is their staple, they also produce other recognized models:
Do-Jigger: Another popular metal spoon for spin casting and trolling.
Vingla: A variation of the Swedish Pimple with a unique wing design for a different action.
Laker Taker, Flute Spoons: Other spoons and jigs targeting lake trout and salmon.
The company takes pride that its lures, including the Swedish Pimple, are still hand-crafted (designed, molded, and airbrushed) in Escanaba, Michigan, and are considered an American fishing icon.
