Museum Archive: Vintage Bretton, 1/3oz Gold spinning lure #3638

Stamped clearly into the gold-finished teardrop blade is the "MADE IN FRANCE" mark, a signature of the Bretton lineage that dates back to 1936. The 1/3 oz (10 g) weight is concentrated in a segmented brass body, featuring three distinct rings at the rear and a smooth, bullet-contoured head. Two translucent red beads are positioned between these brass elements, providing a classic visual focal point. At a total length of 2 3/4" (7 cm), this specimen is engineered for stability even during very slow retrieval. The hardware, including the brass clevis and the bronze-finished treble hook, remains in 5/5 condition, showing exceptional preservation with no signs of use. Collectors of item 3638 will find the blade stampings particularly crisp, including the registered trademark and the size number 5.
