Stamped clearly on the back of this 1/2 oz (14 g) spoon is the 'COP-E-CAT 7400 DETROIT U.S.A.' mark, which immediately roots this piece in Eppinger’s Michigan heritage. Cataloged under product code 2177, the specimen features a textured finish on the convex side, where orange and yellow dots create a scale-like effect over a reflective nickel base. Measuring 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) in length, the lure is rigged with a silver-toned treble hook and durable split rings. You’ll notice the iconic black Dardevle devil head logo printed on the front, centered within that colorful pattern. The condition of this lure is a 5/5, with the reverse side retaining a brilliant, clean finish. This Detroit stamp is a specific detail for collectors, as it identifies the production period before the company’s 1959 move to Dearborn. The spoon is built for casting and trolling, with the orange-to-yellow gradient offering a sharp contrast against the bright metallic nickel plating.
