Museum Archive: Vintage Eppinger Dardevle Lildevle, 1/8oz Red / White / Nickel fishing spoon #14915

Stamped clearly into the nickel-plated backside, the "LIL DEVLE BY DETROIT U.S.A." marking identifies this specimen's heritage before the company moved its operations to Dearborn in 1959. Measuring 1 1/4" (3 cm) in length, this compact spoon carries the iconic red and white diagonal striping synonymous with the Eppinger brand. The front face features the classic devil head logo, showing slight wear typical for its age. Tipping the scales at 1/8 oz (3.4 g), it is outfitted with a single treble hook attached via a split ring at the trailing edge. This specific lure, designated by product code 14915, presents in 4/5 condition. Small paint chips are visible along the perimeter of the red and white enamel, and the treble hook displays some darkening and surface oxidation. The metal on the concave side remains bright, showing only minor surface scuffs from previous tackle box storage.
