Weighing in at a delicate 3/32 oz (2.5 g), this Midget Trout model demonstrates why Eppinger has remained a staple for ultralight enthusiasts for decades. The 'Frog' pattern on this specimen is particularly striking, featuring a deep green base accented by vibrant yellow spots with black centers and a yellow web-like crackle across the convex side. Right in the center sits the iconic yellow and black devil head graphic, a hallmark of the Detroit-born brand founded by Lou Eppinger back in 1906. At just 1 1/2" (3.5 cm) in length, it represents the smallest tier of the classic spoon design. Flipping it over reveals the stamped silver-finish back, clearly marked with the 'DARDEVLE MIDGET' name. This piece, identified by product code 11531, is found in excellent 5/5 condition, retaining its crisp paint lines and original factory hardware. It comes equipped with a small split ring at the head and a sharp bronze-finished treble hook at the tail, ready for casting or for a place in a curated display.
