Stamping "DARDEVLE SKEETER U.S.A." clearly on the copper-toned back, this diminutive 1" (2.3 cm) spoon showcases the heritage of Eppinger craftsmanship. At a light weight of 1/32 oz (1 g), this specimen is a fine example of an ultra-light vintage lure, rated at 5/5 for its high level of preservation. The red and copper finish on the convex side remains well-defined, featuring the iconic devil head logo that has identified these lures since Lou Eppinger founded the company in Detroit back in 1906. This particular Skeeter model, identified by product code 13738, is equipped with a clean double hook secured by a metal split ring. Known for the unique wobbling action inherent to its concave shape, these American-made spoons were so trusted for their reliability that they were once included in military aviation survival kits. The contrasting red stripes against the copper center were designed by the Michigan-based manufacturer to provide visibility during the retrieve.
