A classic red-and-white striped pattern adorns the convex side of this Eppinger Dardevle Skeeter, which remains a staple for ultralight enthusiasts. Carrying product code 1440, this 1/16oz (2g) specimen showcases the Detroit-born manufacturer's dedication to quality. The 1" (2.3cm) spoon features the iconic devil head logo on its painted face, while the reverse displays a crisp nickel finish stamped with 'DARDEVLE SKEETER U.S.A.' Condition is rated at 5/5, as the finish on both sides is exceptionally clean. This specific model utilizes the same concave geometry developed by Lou Eppinger in 1906, intended for casting and a steady retrieve. Historically, the effectiveness of these lures led to their inclusion in military survival kits, and that same craftsmanship is evident in the hardware and split-ring attachment. When fished, a slow retrieve allows the concave surface to work effectively, though a slight rod pump can induce a fluttering motion if a fish is following.
