Museum Archive: Vintage EGB Swiss made, 1/2oz Silver / Gold / Red / Brown fishing spoon #9024

Hand-hammered brass provides a unique texture to this Swiss-made spoon, catching the light in a way only a craftsman’s tool can achieve. Weighing 1/2oz (14g) and measuring 2 1/4" (6cm), this EGB specimen (Product Code 9024) features a striking dual-finish aesthetic. One face displays a dimpled gold surface accented by five neat red dots and a bold black stripe running the length of the body. Flipping it over reveals a contrasting silver-plated side, also marked with that same dark stripe, showcasing the traditional EGB craftsmanship. A red plastic heart-shaped flipper is attached to the treble hook, adding a splash of color and visual resistance behind the spoon. The hook itself features a gold-tone shank, and a small swivel is pre-rigged to the line-tie eyelet to manage line twist during casting or trolling. The lure is in excellent condition (5/5), showing very minimal signs of age on the silver plating and original hardware. Manufactured in Switzerland, these lures are highly regarded among trout and salmon anglers for their solid brass construction and artisanal production methods.
