Museum Archive: Fred Arbogast Jitterbug, 1/3oz Red / White fishing lure #10688

Red and white coloration provides high visibility on this 1/3oz (10g) surface specimen, a classic 'Red Head' pattern that has stood the test of time. Measuring 2 1/4" (6cm) in length, this Fred Arbogast Jitterbug, identified by product code 10688, is in unused condition. The white body features the 'JITTERBUG' name stamped in red across the top, while the red face is accented by yellow painted eyes with black pupils. A signature heart-shaped metal lip is secured to the front with two screws, and it carries the embossed brand name and model. This lure's hardware includes two silver-tone treble hooks attached with traditional flap-rig hangers on the belly and tail. This American-made lure remains a clean example of topwater design, showing no signs of having been fished or handled in the field.
