Tipping the scales at 1/3 oz (10 g), this classic design features a distinctive translucent orange body with a mottled reddish pattern across the back. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm) in length, the Fred Arbogast Mud Bug, product code 8378, is built as a slow-sinking crawfish imitation. A sturdy metal diving lip, prominently stamped with the model name, allows this lure to navigate through diverse underwater structures where large predators often hide. The specimen is in excellent condition, rated 5/5, showing a very well-preserved finish and bright hardware. Under UV light, the orange plastic composition reveals a strong luminescent glow, a technical detail often sought after by collectors of Akron-made lures. Two sharp treble hooks remain securely attached to the belly and tail sections of the American-made body.
