Museum Archive: Vintage Other Gadabout Gaddis, 1/3oz Frog / Nickel fishing spoon #6246

A distinct frog-patterned crackle finish with yellow highlights over a deep green base defines the front of this 1/3 oz (9 g) spoon. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm) in length, the metal body features a polished nickel reverse side where the "GADABOUT GADDIS" name is clearly stamped into the metal. Identified as product code 6246, this piece is a classic representative of American mid-century fishing gear associated with the legendary "Flying Fisherman." The lure is rigged with a silver-tone split ring and a sturdy treble hook. In its current 4/5 state, the lure shows light surface marks on the painted finish, though the nickel remains bright and the stamped lettering is quite crisp.
