Stamped with the 'GIL-O No 2 PAT PEND' mark near its flared head, this 1/2 oz (14 g) vintage metal spoon dates back to 1965 from Chippewa, Wisconsin. Measuring 3" (7.5 cm) in length and bearing product code 24796, this gold-finished spoon remains in excellent vintage condition, rated 5/5. The versatile geometric design makes it suitable for both freshwater and inshore saltwater environments across various depths. On a slow, deep retrieve, the weighted body is designed to keep a stable 180-degree head oscillation arc. Increasing to a medium retrieve targets mid-depths, while a fast retrieve immediately after splashdown with a high rod tip allows the wide body to plane smoothly over shallow structure and vegetation. The tail section is rigged with a single bronze treble hook.
