Hopkins Shorty 75, pilker
The history of Hopkins began in 1949 when R. L. Hopkins, an avid saltwater angler and experimenter, decided that a better lure was needed. His initial goals were to develop a lure that could be cast long distances, would attract fish well, and could withstand the harsh conditions of saltwater fishing; a lure that would resist corrosion and be strong enough to handle trophy-sized fish.
It met the requirements for casting ability and aggressive fish response, being equally deadly for jigging and excellent for trolling.
The compact and heavy Hopkins Shorty is technically not a wobbling spoon. It's a true jig lure. It flies like a bullet and is widely used for catching both bottom predators: zander, perch, as well as asp. The retrieval is regular and step-like. Strikes usually occur at the moment the lure is falling.
