Museum Archive: Vintage Horrocks-Ibbotson Wobbler, 3/4oz Brass / Blue fishing spoon #4553

Two faceted blue glass eyes are inset into the brass body of this vintage casting spoon from Utica, New York. Measuring 3" (7.5cm) and weighing 3/4oz (23g), the lure features a clearly legible stamp on the inner curve identifying it as a No. 2 Wobbler from the Horrocks-Ibbotson Co. A condition rating of 4/5 is supported by the visible preservation of the metal's finish and the integrity of the blue decorative beads. The hardware setup includes two treble hooks, one at each end of the spoon, which are consistent with the Product Code 4553 specifications. Each hook is secured by a metal ring through factory-drilled holes at the tapered tips of the brass frame.
