Museum Archive: Vintage Marathon (with sonic blades), 3/5oz Yellow / Nickel UV Glow in UV light, Fluorescent fishing spoon #6260

Fluorescent yellow paint covers the body of this 3" (7.5 cm) spoon, providing high visibility for targeting species in deeper or stained water. Weighing 3/5 oz (17 g), the lure features a textured nickel diamond insert designed to reflect light, while the surrounding yellow finish reacts with a distinct glow when exposed to UV light. Marathon Bait Company, which operated out of Wisconsin from 1929 to 1979, incorporated two small, willow-leaf shaped "sonic blades" at the rear of the bait. These nickel-finished blades are positioned to mask the silver treble hook and provide additional flash during retrieval. This specimen, identified by product code 6260, remains in 5/5 condition with all original hardware intact. The stamped markings on the sonic blades confirm its origin from the Marathon Bait Company lineup.
