Museum Archive: Vintage Matzuo Asai Shad, 1/4oz Tiger fishing lure #9236

A vibrant Tiger pattern wraps around the 1/4 oz (7 g) body of the Matzuo Asai Shad, identified by product code 9236. Measuring 2" (5 cm) in length, the lure features a distinctive profile with bold black vertical stripes fading from a bright orange back into a chartreuse belly. This floating model is designed to operate at a depth of 0 - 4 ft (0 - 1.2 m), intended primarily for casting techniques. The internal rattling mechanism provides an audible component within the hard plastic shell to assist in murky water visibility. Under UV illumination, the paint finish reveals high-visibility fluorescent properties across the yellow and orange segments. Two sharp treble hooks are secured to the underside with sturdy split rings, and the specimen is presented in 5/5 condition.
