Red and white horizontal stripes adorn the brass blade of this vintage spinner, a color scheme designed for high contrast in the water. Weighing just 3/32oz (2.5g), the Mepps Aglia 0 is a specialized tool for finesse fishing in streams and ponds. This specimen, identified by product code 14118, measures 1 3/4" (4.5cm) in total length and features the classic French-made components assembled in the USA. The brass body beads and the red sleeve on the treble hook are hallmarks of the Aglia's mid-century design. In terms of preservation, the lure is in excellent shape, maintaining its original luster for a 5/5 rating. Andre Meulnart’s 1938 invention became a legend in the American market after Todd Sheldon began importing these spinners to Wisconsin in the 1960s.
