Stamped clearly on the reverse of the blade with "MADE IN FRANCE," this gold-finished Mepps Aglia 0 from the 1960s is a staple piece for any light-tackle collection. The specimen, identified by product code 19239, features the iconic teardrop-shaped blade characteristic of Andre Meulnart’s 1938 design, which gained fame in the United States after Todd Sheldon began importing them to Wisconsin. Measuring 1 3/4" (4.5cm) and weighing 3/32oz (2.5g), the lure is built on a sturdy wire frame that holds two graduated brass beads and a small clevis. A notable visual detail is the vibrant red tubing covering the shank of the treble hook, an attractor feature often used for trout. The front of the blade displays a deep press of markings including "BRITISH PATENT" and "BREVETE FRANCE," highlighting its mid-century European manufacturing roots before final assembly in the USA. This particular unit remains in great shape, rated at a condition of 5/5. The brass components and blade surface retain a bright finish, with the treble hook remaining sharp and the red tubing fully intact.
