Stamped with "BRITISH PATENT" and "BREVETE FRANCE," the gold-plated blade on this vintage spinner reflects the international history of the Mepps brand. Measuring 1 1/2" (4cm) in length, this specific specimen features a vibrant red plastic sleeve on the treble hook shank, a classic detail used to provide a specific strike point for pursuing fish. The 3/32oz (2.5g) weight is distributed across two spherical brass beads, maintaining the balance of the size 0 Aglia frame. As an assembly from the 1960s, it carries components manufactured in France that were put together in the USA during the era when Todd Sheldon's distribution was scaling up in Wisconsin. The condition of this piece is 5/5, showing a remarkably clean surface on the metal components and well-preserved wire work. The blade eyelet is formed by a clean twist of the wire, securing the brass clevis that holds the teardrop-shaped blade in place. This piece, identified by product code 24289, retains the original sharpness on its small treble hooks and the deep, crisp engraving on the blade face.
