Stamped clearly onto the teardrop-shaped blade are the historical patent registrations for Britain, France, and the U.S., highlighting the international legacy of the Mepps Aglia 1. This brass-colored specimen, identified by product code 3028, weighs 1/8oz (3.5g) and measures 2" (5cm) in total length. Its condition is rated at 5/5, showing clean metal surfaces across both the blade and the weighted body. The construction features a solid brass body with five distinct machined grooves, which provides the ballast needed for casting. The hardware includes a traditional treble hook attached via a wire-wrap system, showing some slight darkening from age but remaining structurally sound. Originally a French invention by Andre Meulnart, these specific components were assembled in the USA. The blade is embossed with the 'MEPPS-AGLIA-1' designation, designed to rotate around the central shaft via a folded brass clevis that reacts to water pressure during retrieval.
