Museum Archive: Vintage Mepps Aglia 2 dressed, 3/16oz Brown Trout spinning lure #6529

A classic gold-finished blade featuring black dot patterns and the "MADE IN FRANCE" stamp highlights the French engineering behind product code 6529. Tipping the scales at 3/16oz (4.5g), the construction includes a solid brass body segmented by deep red-painted grooves. This Mepps Aglia 2 dressed spinner measures 2 1/4" (6cm) and presents in very well-preserved condition, earning a rating of 5/5. The "Brown Trout" colorway is interpreted here through the spotted gold blade, a design originating with Andre Meulnart in 1938 before components were later assembled in the USA. A vibrant yellow hair dressing is secured to the treble hook with red thread, providing a textured profile that complements the metallic shine of the rotating blade. The wireform is finished with a traditional loop, and the clevis allows the blade to sit ready for immediate rotation upon retrieval. All markings on the face of the blade remain crisp and legible against the gold plating.
