Museum Archive: Vintage Mepps Aglia 2 dressed, 3/16oz White / Red / Brass spinning lure #8811

Red and white diagonal stripes decorate the size 2 brass blade, offering a high-visibility contrast that has been a staple in the Mepps lineup for decades. On the reverse of the blade, the 'MADE IN FRANCE' stamp confirms the origin of the primary components used in this 8811 model. At 3/16 oz (4.7 g) and 2 1/4" (5.5 cm), the lure features a tail dressed in natural squirrel and deer hair, secured by a red wrap and finished with a distinct red turkey-quill accent. The brass weighted body includes recessed red grooves that coordinate with the blade's graphics. This particular specimen is unused, appearing in 5/5 condition with sharp hook points and clean brass surfaces throughout. The top of the wire is finished with a tidy loop for line attachment, while the clevis allows the blade to rotate freely around the central axis.
