Stamping on the French-made blade identifies this as a size 3, featuring a vibrant chartreuse gradient that transitions from deep orange at the top through yellow to a bright green tip. Weighing 1/4oz (7.3g), the brass body assembly includes a ribbed central section that provides a solid core for the lure, registered under product code 15448. The 2 1/4" (6cm) frame is finished with a natural squirrel tail dressing, expertly tied in variegated tones of black and brown. This particular specimen rates 5/5, showing a clean finish on both the metal components and the red-wrapped head of the tail. The "Mepps AGLIA" branding on the blade is a nod to the original 1938 design by Andre Meulnart, which later gained legendary status in the U.S. via Todd Sheldon’s Wisconsin-based distribution. A solid brass clevis holds the blade to the shaft, ensuring the cone rotation system operates efficiently during a steady retrieve. Each component reflects the hybrid history of parts manufactured in France and assembled in the USA. The treble hook is well-camouflaged within the dense natural fibers, which are accented with a few strands of red thread near the tie-in point.
