Museum Archive: Mepps Aglia Long 2, 1/4oz Gold spinning lure #5379

Weighing in at 1/4oz (7.4g), the brass body on this specimen features a deep-red bead just above the treble hook assembly. The gold willow-leaf blade is stamped with 'AGLIA LONG' and 'MADE IN FRANCE,' highlighting the quality French-made components used for its assembly in the USA. Measuring 2 3/4" (7cm), the lure remains in unused condition. On the reverse side of the blade, a textured diamond pattern surrounds the size '2' stamp. The central body consists of stacked brass rings with red-painted grooves that coordinate with the red plastic sleeve covering the shank of the treble hook. Identified by product code 5379, the elongated blade shape is engineered for fishing in fast current or at greater depths where a lower-profile spin is beneficial.
