Museum Archive: Vintage Mepps Aglia Long 2 dressed (with tail), 1/4oz Nickel spinning lure #0212

Measuring 2 3/4" (7cm) in length, the willow-leaf blade on this spinner features a distinct diamond-textured nickel finish. Stamped clearly with "Made in France" and the size designation on the reverse, the blade is paired with a brass-toned ribbed body that incorporates subtle red accents within its grooves. This specific specimen, identified by Product Code 0212, represents the era when Mepps components were imported from France for final assembly in the USA. Weighing in at 1/4oz (7.3g), the lure is balanced by a weighted torso and a single vibrant orange bead positioned just above the hook assembly. The dressing consists of a thick black hair tail with a few contrasting red strands, all of which remain in 5/5 condition. Every component is remarkably clean, from the clevis to the wire shaft, showcasing the classic feathered design intended for casting into current.
