Museum Archive: Panther Martin 6, 3/16oz Fire Tiger spinning lure #5009

Holographic reflections shimmer across the rainbow-trout-patterned blade of this 3/16 oz (6 g) spinner. This particular specimen, identified by product code 5009 and designated in the Fire Tiger color series, displays a vibrant holographic foil on a silver-based blade accented with a pink lateral stripe and black spotting. At a total length of 2 inches (5 cm), the lure utilizes the iconic Panther Martin shaft-through-blade construction, which ensures the blade rotates directly around the wire shaft next to the metallic red weighted body. This specific hardware configuration allows the lure to maintain a deeper position in the water column during a retrieve compared to standard clevis-mounted designs. The lure is currently in unused condition, still housed within its original yellow and blue blister pack from Harrison Hoge Industries. A sharp, bronze-finished treble hook is attached at the tail, and the back of the carding confirms its manufacture in the Dominican Republic.
