Museum Archive: Vintage Rapala Countdown S7, 1/4oz G (Gold) fishing lure #14730

A weight of 1/4oz (8g) gives this Finnish-made sinking lure the density required for reaching specific depths during casting or trolling. The classic G (Gold) color pattern is executed with a black spine that fades into textured gold foil scales along the sides, finishing with a pale belly. Measuring 2 3/4" (7cm), the balsa wood body is equipped with two sharp treble hooks and features the iconic yellow-and-black painted eyes. On the clear plastic lip, the "Rapala Finland" stamp is clearly visible, marking its origin and its capability to reach a depth range of 5 - 8 ft (1.5 - 2.4 m). A small touch of red paint is applied to the nose area, just below the front eyelet. This specimen, assigned product code 14730, remains in excellent shape with a condition rating of 5/5.
