Balsa wood, weighing a delicate 3/32 oz (2.3 g), serves as the foundation for this vintage Rapala Original Floater F5. The hand-painted Trout finish displays a striking red lateral line complemented by a series of blue and red scale patterns along its cream-colored sides. Measuring 2" (5 cm) in length, this specimen carries the 7272 product code and remains in excellent 5/5 condition. The clear diving lip is designed to take the lure into the strike zone at depths of 2 ft to 6 ft (0.6 - 1.8 m), making it suitable for both casting and light trolling. Its construction follows the traditional methods established by Lauri Rapala in the 1930s, utilizing the natural buoyancy of balsa to mimic a baitfish. Two sharp treble hooks are attached via robust split rings, and the detailed eye paint remains crisp on the head.
