Museum Archive: Vintage Thomas EEL, 1/3oz Nickel / Red fishing spoon #5657

A polished nickel finish defines the 2 1/4" (6 cm) body of this vintage spoon, which features two distinct red eye-spots painted near the line tie. Stamped into the face is the "EEL" nameplate accompanied by a detailed fish motif, characteristic of the Thomas Lures production from the USA. Despite being designated with product code 5657 and a weight of 1/3 oz (10 g), the reverse side of the metal shows a factory "3/8 OZ" stamp along with the model number R324 and the brand logo. The hardware consists of a robust treble hook attached via a split ring, showing no signs of use. This specimen is in excellent 5/5 condition, maintaining a mirror-like shine across its curved surface. The lure is balanced for various casting and trolling applications where a slender profile is required.
