Museum Archive: Vintage Tony Accetta Weed Dodger, 1/2oz nickel fishing spoon #22681

Polished to a bright nickel finish, this 1/2 oz (14 g) metal spoon exemplifies the functional design aesthetic typical of the Tony Accetta brand. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm), the convex body is clearly stamped with "TONY ACCETTA SPIN-DODGER 10" on its inner face. This specimen, assigned product code 22681, includes a wire weed guard designed to shield the hook during retrieval through vegetation. At the nose, a small metal flipper blade is hinged to create water resistance. The tail is dressed with a cluster of deep red feathers, which are securely attached to the rear hook assembly. Originating from the USA, the lure is in 5/5 condition, maintaining a smooth and reflective exterior. A central brass-colored rivet holds the weed guard tension against the spoon's body.
