Worth Chippewa Steel Spoon: Reliable Classic from Wisconsin
Worth Manufacturing Company (later Worth Company) is a well-known American manufacturer of fishing tackle and components, based in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The company specialized in quality metal components but also produced its own highly effective lures, including the Chippewa.
The Worth company was founded in the 1940s and initially focused on manufacturing wire forms and other metal components for the fishing tackle industry. This gave them first-rate access to quality metals.
The Chippewa Steel Spoon is a classic wobbling spoon lure, named after the Chippewa River or the Ojibwe (Chippewa) Native American tribe in Wisconsin. It was designed for catching northern pike, Walleye, and lake trout.
The Chippewa is a long, thin, relatively light spoon with a very distinct curve that gives it a wide, slow, oscillating wobble.
