The stamped "COP-E-CAT 7300 DETROIT U.S.A" on the polished nickel reverse side immediately marks this spoon as a piece of Michigan tackle history. Produced by Eppinger under product code 4783, this particular specimen showcases a striking fluorescent chartreuse and green gradient. Centered on the painted face is the distinct black cat logo, a hallmark of the Cop-E-Cat series. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm) in length and weighing 1/3 oz (10 g), the spoon is built on a solid metal base designed for casting or trolling. The finish is UV-reactive, specifically applied to provide enhanced visibility in deeper or stained water. Every detail, from the sturdy treble hook to the original split ring, is perfectly preserved. This specimen is unused and remains in excellent condition. The "Detroit" stamping connects it to the early legacy of Lou Eppinger, who began crafting these tools in his basement in the early 20th century.
