Red and white diagonal stripes define the face of this Dardevlet spoon, a finish officially known as the classic Red Devle pattern. Weighing in at 3/4 oz (21 g), this casting spoon is a quintessential example of the craftsmanship that once came out of Detroit, Michigan. The upper white stripe features a crisp, black devil-head logo, an unmistakable identifier for collectors of vintage Eppinger tackle. Flipping the lure over reveals a polished nickel reverse side, deeply stamped with 'DARDEVLET' and 'EPPINGER DETROIT' alongside its patent markings. Measuring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm), the lure’s metal body provides substantial heft for long-distance casting. The hardware remains in great shape, featuring a heavy-duty treble hook secured by a durable split ring. This specific specimen, identified by product code 19049, is in 5/5 condition, retaining its high-gloss finish and clear stampings. The construction reflects the original dies used by Lou Eppinger’s company, which moved production to Dearborn in 1959. Each curve of the concave body is precisely formed, a technical choice that has made the Dardevle line a fishing standard for generations.
