Stamped into the silver-toned reverse side, the "DARDEVLE IMP U.S.A." mark identifies this classic casting spoon. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm) and weighing 2/5 oz (11 g), this specimen features the iconic Red Devle pattern, consisting of a red finish with a single white diagonal stripe. Despite some visible paint loss from previous use, the condition remains a solid 4/5. This model, part of the legendary line started by Lou Eppinger in Detroit in 1906, is cataloged under product code 21869. The oblong, concave body is crafted using the company's proprietary dies in Dearborn, Michigan, where operations moved in 1959. Its construction includes a durable treble hook and a single mounting hole at the nose for your leader or snap. The reflective back provides a contrasting flash against the painted front, a design characteristic that has remained largely unchanged since its inclusion in vintage aviation survival kits.
