Stamped clearly on the copper-finished reverse, the 'DARDEVLE IMP U.S.A.' hallmark identifies this piece as a genuine Eppinger creation. This particular specimen, assigned Product Code 9799, features the classic red and white enamel stripe pattern on its front face, accompanied by the iconic devil head logo. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm) and weighing 2/5 oz (11 g), the lure's condition is a solid 4/5, showing some authentic paint wear and small chips near the edges and line tie. The heavy-gauge copper base provides the necessary weight for casting, while the rear is equipped with a sturdy treble hook attached via a split ring. Historically manufactured by the Michigan-based company founded by Lou Eppinger in 1906, the Imp model reflects the mid-century design that saw these lures included in aviation survival kits. Small areas of exposed metal on the red and white face show where the enamel has aged, while the copper back remains clean and well-preserved.
