Museum Archive: Vintage Glen Evans Loco 2, 1/4oz nickel fishing spoon #22614

Measuring exactly 2" (5 cm) in length, the high-polish nickel finish provides a classic reflective flash that has made this USA-made design a staple for decades. Originally produced by Glen Evans before the design was later picked up by Luhr Jensen, this Loco 2 reflects the utilitarian engineering common in mid-century American tackle. Weighing 1/4 oz (7 g), the spoon is built with a unique offset-bend geometry designed for stability during both casting and trolling applications. This specific specimen, cataloged as Product Code 22614, is ideally suited for working shallow flats or weed edges up to 3.3 ft (1 m) deep, especially when fish like pike are holding in still water and require a more methodical presentation. The hardware is solid, featuring a single treble hook secured by a split ring, showing a well-maintained condition rated at 4/5. The teardrop shape transitions into a narrow neck, creating a profile that remains visible even during the slow-speed retrieves needed for less active predators.
