Six small red-filled recesses create a distinctive visual pattern near the line tie of this Herter's Canadian Spoon. Stamped clearly on the nickel-finished body is the manufacturer's name along with "B.L.W.", identifying its specific production series. This particular specimen, cataloged as product code 8835, comes in at a length of 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) and a weight of 1/3 oz (10 g). It is a fascinating piece of post-war angling history, as these spoons were produced in Japan during the occupation period for the famous American outfitter, Herter’s. The polished nickel surface reflects light sharply, accented by those deep red "eyes" that distinguish the Canadian Spoon from more utilitarian designs of the same era. At a condition rating of 5/5, the lure shows exceptionally well, maintaining its original luster across the teardrop-shaped body. The hardware is solid, featuring a strong split ring and a sharp treble hook that remains in excellent shape.
