Museum Archive: Vintage Johnson Silver Minnow Weedless, 2/5oz nickel fishing spoon #24285

Copper and zinc alloys form the core of this 2 1/4" (6 cm) spoon, providing the specific density required for its signature side-to-side rocking movement. Carrying the product code 24285, this nickel-colored specimen represents the vintage American-made craftsmanship from the original Johnson production era. The thick-centered design ensures the lure remains upright during the retrieve, allowing the integrated wire guard to shield the single hook from snagging in dense lily pads or grass. Weighing 2/5 oz (12 g), the spoon is balanced to oscillate through a 270-degree arc, creating consistent flashes directed downward where predatory fish often strike. This specific lure is in excellent condition, rated 5/5, with all hardware remaining solid and the nickel finish clean. The hook is well-suited for adding a trailer to enhance the profile without disrupting the weight distribution that prevents line twist.
