Vivid green hues accented by yellow spots with dark centers define the classic Frog pattern on this 2 1/4" (6 cm) Wisconsin-born spoon. Carrying the product code 3016, this specimen represents the mid-century craftsmanship of the Marathon Bait Company, which operated out of Wausau from 1929 until 1979. Two elongated nickel sonic blades are attached to the rear split rings, designed to generate extra vibrations and reflect light near the treble hook. Weighing in at 2/5 oz (12 g), the stamped nickel back shows the original metal finish. This particular lure remains in 4/5 condition, showing light signs of age that highlight its vintage character while remaining structurally sound. The sharp treble hook is secured between the dual flippers, a signature design element intended to mask the hook while mimicking the appearance of a forage fish's tail.
