Tipping the scales at a versatile 1/4 oz (7 g), this classic spinner represents a fascinating era of transnational production between France and the USA. The silver-finished blade features deeply engraved lettering including "MEPPS 3 AGLIA" and "BRITISH PATENT BREVETE FRANCE," reflecting the French engineering of Andre Meulnart that eventually conquered the American market. Measuring 2 3/4" (7 cm) in total length, the lure features a solid brass ribbed body and tiered brass beads that provide the necessary ballast for targeted casting. On the reverse of the blade, the "MADE IN FRANCE" stamp serves as a hallmark of quality for collectors who track the evolution of the brand's manufacturing origins. The treble hook is securely attached via a brass wire form, and the entire assembly, identified by product code 4117, is in beautiful 5/5 condition. Because of the Aglia's wide blade profile, it is designed to rotate immediately upon contact with the water, a technical standard that has made it a staple for trout and bass since the late 1930s.
