A stamped star with the "W.T. J. LOWE REGISTERED" trademark marks the half-silver, half-gold teardrop blade of this late 1890s inline spinner. Measuring 3 1/2" (9 cm) and weighing 1/4 oz (7 g), this brass-framed spinner showcases the custom benchwork of the Buffalo, New York maker. The front of the blade splits its finish between silver plating and brass, while the reverse side retains a portion of its original red paint finish. Red feathers dress the treble hook, bound tightly with red thread at the shank. This specimen remains in 5/5 condition, showing clean metal surfaces and a well-preserved feather dressing. The heavy-gauge brass wire chassis is straight and shows a classic hand-twisted connection at the hook eye.
