Museum Archive: Vintage Mepps Aglia Long 3 Mino, 1/2oz brass spinning lure #22324

Stamped clearly on the brass blade is the 'Made in France' origin of the components used to build this 1/2 oz (14 g) Mepps Aglia Long 3 Mino, identified by product code 22324. Assembled in the USA, this specimen features a size 3 willow-leaf blade with a textured finish, a hallmark of the Aglia Long series designed to stay tight to the wire shaft. The soft plastic minnow body measures 4" (10 cm) and retains a clean, pearlescent white color with well-defined scale patterns and a distinct eye. Four beads—one solid orange, two yellow-orange gradients, and a brass spacer—provide the spacing for the clevis. For hooking, the lure is rigged with two treble hooks: one positioned ventrally and another at the tail. Rated at 5/5, the condition is excellent, with the plastic remaining supple and the brass components bright. The willow blade design is intended for fishing deeper or in faster current than standard round blades, and the stamped lettering on the blade remains crisp and legible.
