Adorning the treble hook is a classic squirrel tail dressing, a signature feature of the Mepps Comet 3 Dressed model from the 1960s. This specific specimen, identified by product code 14895, features a brass-toned blade deeply stamped with "FRENCH BRITISH PATENT MADE IN FRANCE." Weighing in at 1/4oz (6.5g) and measuring 2 3/4" (7cm) in length, the Gold color palette is beautifully balanced by a black-ribbed body with golden horizontal accents. The French-made Comet series is uniquely characterized by its detachable hook system, which allowed anglers to easily swap the feathered treble for a plain hook or different sizes in the field.
