Vintage Nebco Pixee, 1/4oz fishing spoon #22484

Hammered silver textures catch the light on this classic 2" (5 cm) brass body. This 1/4 oz (7 g) Nebco Pixee features a distinctive bright orange plastic insert, designed to mimic a cluster of salmon eggs—a clever visual attractor for trout and salmon. Looking at the specimen, the metal and the orange insert remain vibrant, indicating the lure has been well-preserved (5/5 condition), even though the original black and white NEBCO mounting card shows substantial wear and tearing (3.5/5). Originally produced in the USA by the National Expert Bait company before the brand evolved into Blue Fox in the 1980s, these spoons were engineered with a heavy cast construction specifically for reaching distance during a cast. The hardware consists of a sturdy treble hook linked by a split ring at the tail. The stark white NEBCO brand label on the card identifies this as a genuine piece of 1960s or 70s fishing history.
