Nebco

NEBCO (The Nelson, Edgington, and Boys Company / National Expert Bait Co) was founded in 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
The name NEBCO is an acronym derived from the surnames of its founders: Nelson, Edgington, and Boys. A pivotal figure in the company’s history was Bill Huntley, who led the firm and was responsible for its marketing and distribution strategies.
Originally, the company functioned as a major importer and distributor of high-quality fishing tackle, primarily from Scandinavia. NEBCO played a crucial role in establishing Rapala lures within the U.S. market.
The "National Expert Bait Co" trademark was officially registered in 1952. In 1968, the company was acquired by Ron Weber and Ray Ostrom (the founders of Normark), the men famous for bringing Rapala to America.
From NEBCO to Blue Fox
In the 1970s, the company shifted its focus toward developing its own manufacturing brand.
In 1977–1978, the company was renamed Blue Fox Tackle Co.
Starting in 1979, the legendary Super Vibrax spinners and Pixee spoons began large-scale production in the USA under the Blue Fox name.
Today, Blue Fox is a proud member of the Rapala VMC Corporation group.
