Museum Archive: Vintage Pflueger Chum 2, 1/4oz nickel/red fishing spoon #20257

Stamped clearly on the convex side of the nickel-plated body is the 'PFLUEGER CHUM MADE IN USA' mark, providing immediate identification of its American origin. This specific spoon, cataloged under product code 20257, weighs 1/4 oz (7 g) and measures 1 3/4" (4.5 cm) in length. The bright nickel finish is remarkably well-preserved, complemented by a vibrant red feather dressing on the hook. Pflueger manufactured this 'Chum' weedless model until the 1950s, engineering it specifically for fishing in thick aquatic cover. The integrated wire weed guard retains its original tension, shielding the single hook point as intended. The lure shows no signs of use and is in excellent condition, warranting a 5/5 rating. A small split ring is attached to the eyelet for connection to a leader or line.
