Museum Archive: Vintage Rapala Shallow Shad Rap 08, 1/3oz Fire Tiger fishing lure #10998

Crafted from lightweight balsa wood in Finland, this 1/3 oz (9 g) lure is a well-maintained example of the Shallow Shad Rap 08. The Fire Tiger finish consists of a saturated green top with dark, wavy markings that flow down into a chartreuse-yellow body and an orange throat area. With an overall length of 3 1/4" (8 cm), the lure is identified by product code 10998 and is built to run at depths between 4 ft and 8 ft (1.2 - 2.4 m). Its clear plastic lip remains transparent and firmly set into the nose, while the original treble hooks show very little wear, leading to a condition score of 5/5. Designed for both casting and trolling, the balsa construction remains a favorite for species like pike, zander, and trout.
